This logo is for a program within the Department of Veterans Affairs in which lab results are transferred electronically to the facility at which a veteran is seeking medical attention. Transportability of medical records is imperative as veterans relocate: electronic transfer of such data is the only secure way to move the information. Represented here are a test tube with "digital" bubbles and a keyboard. And as with several other of the Veterans Administration logos, it is important to convey a sense of confidence and trustworthiness, while at the same time giving a contemporary and technological look-and-feel to the designs--the typeface has a moderately heavy stroke to embody this reliability.
